Medication review and management in Edison, NJ

Taking several medicines from different doctors can be confusing, and sometimes risky. Anil Singh, MD will review everything you take, make sure it all works safely together, and keep your prescriptions up to date.

How we help

  • A complete medication review: we go through every prescription, over-the-counter medicine, vitamin and supplement you take.
  • Checking for interactions and side effects: some medicines don't mix well, and some side effects are easy to mistake for a new illness.
  • Simplifying your list: where it's safe, we stop medicines you no longer need, combine pills or switch to once-a-day options.
  • Coordinating with your specialists: so medicines from your cardiologist, endocrinologist or other doctors work together.
  • Keeping costs down: we look for generic options and check what your insurance covers.
  • Regular monitoring: blood tests when a medicine needs them, such as kidney, liver or blood sugar checks.

Bring everything to your visit

The easiest way to get a full review is to put every medicine you take, including vitamins, supplements, herbal and home remedies, and eye drops or creams, in a bag and bring it to your appointment. Medicines brought from overseas are important to include too.

Who benefits most

  • Anyone taking five or more medicines
  • Adults over 65, especially after a hospital stay
  • People who see several specialists
  • Anyone having side effects, or finding it hard to keep track of their pills

Medicare patients can combine a medication review with their yearly Medicare annual wellness visit.

Prescription refills

Current patients can request refills two ways:

  • Patient portal: through the IMSCare patient portal or its app.
  • Phone: call (732) 494-5000 during office hours, or leave a voice message at any time. Our staff review voice messages the next day.

To protect your privacy, please don't send medical details by email. Request refills before you run out, so there's time to review the request and send it to your pharmacy. If your need is urgent, for example you have run out of an important medicine, tell us and we can arrange a televisit. Some medicines need a visit or a blood test before they can be refilled.

Frequently asked questions

How often should my medicines be reviewed?

At least once a year, and any time you start a new medicine, see a new specialist, have a hospital stay or notice a new side effect.

Can I stop a medicine if I feel fine?

Please don't stop any prescription medicine on your own. Some need to be reduced slowly. Talk to us first and we'll decide together.

Do you review vitamins and herbal supplements?

Yes. Supplements and herbal or home remedies can interact with prescription medicines, so please include them.

How do I request a refill?

Through the IMSCare patient portal or app, or by calling (732) 494-5000. Outside office hours you can leave a voice message, which our staff review the next day. If the matter is urgent, we can arrange a televisit.
