Adults 18 and older
We care for adults only. For babies, children and teens under 18, please see a pediatrician or a family medicine practice that treats children.
Family doctor, primary care doctor or internist: what's the difference?
All three can be your regular, first-call doctor. The main difference is age:
| Type of doctor | Who they care for |
|---|---|
| Primary care doctor | The general term for your main, regular doctor |
| Internist (internal medicine) | Adults, with extra training in complex and chronic conditions |
| Family medicine doctor | All ages, including children |
If the patients in your family are adults, an internist like Dr. Singh gives you everything you'd expect from a family doctor, with added depth for conditions that become more common with age.
Care for the whole adult family
- Young adults: physicals for work or college, sick visits, vaccines and preventive care.
- Parents: annual physicals, diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, thyroid and weight care.
- Grandparents and older adults: Medicare wellness visits, medication reviews, kidney health and chronic disease care.
- Everyone: same-day visits for flu, colds and other sick visits, flu shots and vaccines, and televisits 24/7 for urgent matters and follow-ups.
When several adults in a family see the same doctor, shared family history, such as diabetes or heart disease, is easier to spot and act on early. With your permission, family members can also help with appointments and communication.

Frequently asked questions
Is Dr. Singh a family doctor?
Dr. Singh is a board certified internist and primary care doctor for adults. For adult patients he provides the same ongoing, whole-person care people expect from a family doctor, and he can care for every adult in the family.
Do you see children?
No. We care for adults 18 and older. For children and teens, please see a pediatrician or a family medicine practice that treats children.
Can my whole family see the same doctor?
Yes, all adult family members can see Dr. Singh. Knowing a family's shared health history helps spot conditions like diabetes and heart disease early.
Is an internist better than a family doctor for adults?
Both are good choices for adults. Internists train only in adult medicine, with extra focus on chronic and complex conditions, which helps adults with diabetes, high blood pressure or several medicines.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. New patients are usually seen the next day, and the same day for flu, colds and other sick visits. Call (732) 494-5000.
